This course is designed to ensure all Operational Firefighters have the necessary skills to carry out the risk critical interventions and safe systems of work required within the early stages/ first attendance at a Heavy Rescue Incident.
Level 3 Skills for Justice Accredited Course
This course builds on the Heavy Rescue basic safe systems of work within the First Responder course and adds in the basic equipment inventory carried on a Rescue Pump type appliance. By the end of the course students will be able to carry out safe competent lifting and winching operations (subject to equipment inventory)
Level 3 Skills for Justice Accredited Course
This course is designed for Instructors on Heavy/ Specialist Rescue Stations. This comprehensive course covers the full equipment inventory and rescue technique requirements of a Heavy/ Specialist Rescue Tender/ vehicle. This course ensures that watch based Trainers or Service Instructors have all the tools required to cascade this level of training to their students.
Level 3 Skills for Justice Accredited Course
This course provides all the health and safety, safe systems of work, rescue technique awareness and scene management requirements for an attending Tactical Advisor to a Heavy Rescue Incident.
The course also ensures attendee's are updated on the latest Collaboration and Partner working requirements at a large incident.
Level 3 Skills for Justice Accredited Course
A safety based course aimed all first responding staff to incidents involving electric or hybrid vehicles. This course gives the student the required knowledge and skills to approach, assess and power down/ make safe any EV/ hybrid vehicle involved in a collision or other incident type.
This course is provided to give students an awareness of the different fuel technologies currently on UK roads. As well as an overview of the technology and hazards presented, the safe systems of work required to make them safe are included (where applicable).
Skills fade, changes in techniques and evolving technologies are a real issue when we consider maintenance of competence. Refresher courses are a good way to keep staff competent, updated and compliant without the expense of a full course requirement.
