Electric Vehicle / Hybrid Vehicle Safety

With full electric and hybrid vehicle numbers increasing on UK roads this 1 day course is designed to give students a full awareness of the risks and hazards associated with these vehicle types as well as preparing them with the necessary Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), "Power down" techniques and processes to manage them appropriately.

Students will examine and compare the power systems of both full electric and hybrid vehicle types giving them the understanding and confidence to carry out high voltage battery management safely.

With Lithium Ion battery usage increasing across all sectors Students will also consider the risks and strategies to deal with these significant fires should they happen. With case studies and previous incident discussions they will examine the implications of overheat, overcharge, case damage/ impact and defective equipment as part of the input.
